Staying at Villa 1 was a mixed experience. The rooms were very spacious with huge beds but seemed below Shangri-La standard. The location is superb right on West Lake, but there were communication issues with the golf kart service. Service ranged from friendly and helpful to impatience and unaccommodative behavior. Dining options were limited with expensive choices, and the facilities were average.

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet, making it easy to relax. The West Wing was connected to the East Wing, offering access to the exclusive Club with added benefits and a serene space to enjoy the lake views. However, I did find that the international electric outlet availability was limited, which made it inconvenient for charging various devices with different plug types.
